We wanted to thank you again for doing such a great job last Saturday and for being so accommodating throughout. The set-up, food and service throughout the evening were outstanding.

We received lots of unprompted comments about how beautiful the tables were and how delicious all the food was. Several guests said it was the best food they'd had at a wedding, so please extend our compliments to the chefs!

You also personally did a sterling job of making sure it all somehow ran to time and went to plan, despite some unexpected requests (we have both worked in events before, so we know that they come with great pressure and lots of behind-the-scenes work). Please also extend our thanks to the excellent bar and waiting staff we had. They were all so efficient, helpful and friendly with everyone. You were right about there being a lot of food - I hope there wasn't too much waste!

All in all we had such a fun time, and all our guests did too. So a sincere thank you from us for playing a very significant and memorable role in that - not just in serving up excellent food, but in helping to create the relaxed yet lively atmosphere that we had wanted. 

We'll be sure to recommend you to anyone looking for a caterer.

Highly recommend Tasting Plates!

Nobody likes bad wedding food. My husband and I are food lovers so obviously we wanted to serve our wedding guests a great meal. Toby and Joe did not disappoint!

They also served as day-of coordination for the reception venue, for which I am hugely grateful - including seamlessly handling a last-minute emergency.

I was immensely impressed by the event at the Amadeus.

I know we joked at the time, but the word ‘effortless’ is apt as that is how it appeared from my point of view. Organisation was spot on, you hit all the time marks on the schedule, the service was flawless, the food impeccable, and the staff were professional and charm personified.

It was a revelatory experience and cause for pride in what you have achieved.

I expected to be anxious and nervous, but for my first time as a guest I got the ‘Tasting Plates effect’.

Thank you so so much for organising and running such a perfect reception for us. We cannot tell you how many guests made an effort to tell us how excellent, attentive, friendly and brilliant you all were, and genuinely (and this was possibly the biggest thing we wanted to get right) so many people have told us that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding (that lamb..!).

Thank you for meeting requests for another helping, it made me laugh when you said that they were a hungry bunch. 

It was also so brilliant and thoughtful that someone was always on hand to look after my [family] and pass a glass of water to keep them going! The bar staff were brilliant, the espresso martinis and Aperol spritz's were a huge hit and definitely gave us the boost of energy we needed. 

We think the other thing that made such a difference to us, which we think should convince anyone to go with you guys, is the fact that you were both on the floor with the rest of the serving staff. Made all the difference knowing you were there on the day, handling all the finer details.

We wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all your help in the run up to our wedding. We were so pleased with the food on the day, the lamb was delicious and perfectly cooked. We’ve had several comments from guests about the ‘amazing dips’ for our starters and we’ve also had a lot of compliments on the generous portion sizes - by all accounts everyone felt like there was plenty of food and canapés to go round so thank you for that!

You asked for feedback and we’re happy to share our thoughts: 

Initial chats - For us it was so brilliant to get on a Zoom call as an intro to Tasting Plates. It’s very overwhelming at first being sent lots of sample menus by different caterers for weddings. Guessing it’s time restraints that mean companies send out them out, but what really sold us to TP was getting on that first call and chatting to a real person about the food and flavours we loved, and giving us the confidence to create our own Middle Eastern-inspired menu. It was so personal and made us feel like we would really be valued if we went with the TP team.

Toby and Joe, your knowledge, understanding and passion for food is clear to see and it’s clear that you work so well together as a team. You weren’t afraid to dissuade us against ideas you thought wouldn’t be executed well (eg halloumi starter) and your suggestions of sides to go with the main were great! We particularly loved the Persian rice.

On-the-day itself - you were both very supportive and attentive. Joe, you were so on it with the running of the day and timings, guiding us into the wedding breakfast at the key moment, and you absolutely perfected our sparkler walk - without you we’re pretty sure it would never have happened! Thank you so much. You also made sure to come up to us throughout the day and check we had a drink on several occasions, which was a really nice touch. 

Overall, we had a truly brilliant day and so appreciate all your hard work and thorough preparation. We’d have no hesitation in recommending you to friends or family.
